Dinesh, 45 – carpenter.
“Carpentry has been in my family for generations. I’ve been around it from a very early age, picking up skills as I got older. It’s more than a job for me. I even have my own band saw at home.”
“A few years ago I decided I wanted to try something different. I left my job as a carpenter and became a lorry driver. It’s not a job that involved the precision I was used to though, and I missed that more than I thought. So I went back. Turns out carpentry is in my blood after all.”
“At home, I take pride in making sure my sons, daughter, and my wife – who I call ‘the boss’ – are all looked after. My favourite activity though, I have to say, is sleeping!”
Dinesh is a carpenter at our workshop in Jodhpur, where he works on designs including our Orson stools.
