Hand-made from start to finish – crafting the Sahara chest of drawers.

A design with a real story to tell, our Sahara collection is made by our artisans in Jodhpur, India. Go behind the scenes to discover how we make the chest of drawers design – a statement piece for bedrooms, dining rooms and even living rooms alike.

To begin, planks of wood are individually selected from the organised chaos of the wood-store. Planed and their edges cut to length, each piece takes shape.

The legs are tapered and sanded by hand. A milling machine cuts the grooves for the drawer runners. Then, by hand, the wood is carefully aligned and assembled.

The Grey Wash finish is applied all over the mango wood; it nuances some of its tones and is matt in appearance. The screen-printing is what the Sahara is all about though. Naresh – our screen printer – mixes his paint and pours a small line onto the intricately patterned screens. A firm, rubberised block is dragged quickly across, taking the paint with it. The paint dries quickly and the Sahara is complete.
